  Meet at Vail Pass rest area.  9:00am at the Shrine Pass Road trailhead.  Must have snowshoes or skis and skins. 

  Be ready to spend the entire day out on the snow.  Warm all day boots only. No leather boots.  Bring:  Lunch, water, sunscreen, extra gloves, down jacket, hat, goggles and extra layers.  Bring your own shovel, probe and beacon.  Let me know if you need anything, I can supply all the avalanche gear.  Mike 970-390-9433.

Details: 

Seven hour field session will provide hands-on training on avalanche terrain analysis/ terrain traps, route selection, stability analysis, avalanche beacons, and rescue techniques following the guidelines of the American Avalanche Association.
